B.01 — one black polo, built for doers
B. makes one garment in one color. B.01 is a short-sleeve polo in black, built for doers:
people who do the work themselves rather than delegate it. Owner-operators and founders, but
equally engineers, shop-floor and site leads, clinicians and tradespeople — anyone whose day
starts hands on the work and ends in a room where they are being read.
The problem
Most premium clothing assumes you spend the day sitting still. The shirt you can actually work in
is rarely the one you want to be seen deciding in, and going home to change was never a plan.
A working day runs from the floor at 09:15 to a screen at 11:00, a customer at 14:30, a board
meeting at 16:00 and a flight at 20:10 — and the shirt has to still look right in the last room.
The three decisions behind B.01
- The fabric. A plated double-knit — polyester knitted open against the skin so sweat leaves instead of soaking in, cotton-rich on the outside so it reads as a shirt and not as gym kit. 190–210 GSM, roughly 4% elastane, wicking and anti-odor finishes, recovers without an iron.
- The build. A cut-and-sew self-fabric collar rather than a cheap knitted rib, with knit interlining so it still stretches. Collar and body from one dye lot. Taped shoulder seams, 4-thread overlock side seams, 20 mm twin-needle hems, 12 stitches per inch. Fastness grades written into the purchase order as pass-or-fail.
- One color. Black only, five sizes, very few variants — so the drawer stops being a decision.
Sizing
Five sizes, S to XXL, relaxed fit. Garment half-chest runs 51 to 63 cm and body length 69 to 77 cm,
measured flat, with a tolerance of ±1.0 cm. The most reliable method is to lay a polo you already
own flat and measure straight across the chest.
What B. does not claim
- Black fades eventually. Polyester slows it far beyond cotton but does not stop it, and lab fastness numbers are not yet available.
- The anti-odor finish reduces odor rather than removing it, and wears down over time. Fabric softener destroys it.
- B.01 has not been manufactured at scale yet. Untested specifications are labelled untested.

B.01 is not yet on sale. The reservation list is open: leave an email and a size, and B. emails you
once when it ships, with first refusal on the run. No payment and no card details. Shipping across
India; international planned.
